Canada Carbon to Pursue Legal Action

February 26th, 2018, Vancouver, BC, Canada – Canada Carbon Inc. (the “Company”) (TSX-V:CCB), (FF:U7N1) announces that following Canada Carbon's demand for a review of the January 25th, 2018 administrative closure by Québec’s Agricultural Board (the Commission de protection du territoire agricole du Québec or “CPTAQ”), Canada Carbon received a letter from the CPTAQ confirming its decision to administratively close the file because the CPTAQ was notified of a resolution adopted by Grenville-sur-la-Rouge Council on December 12th, 2017, stating that Canada Carbon’s project was non-compliant to its zoning by-law.

Canada Carbon immediately filed an appeal before Quebec's Administrative Tribunal to review CPTAQ's decision, on the grounds that the CPTAQ made errors concerning the admissibility of Canada Carbon’s application, that the CPTAQ erred by failing to take into account the effect of section 246 of the Act respecting land use planning and development which states that the graphite mining is not subject to the zoning regulations, and that the CPTAQ violated the rules of procedural fairness.

Also, Canada Carbon is in the process of filing a lawsuit against Grenville-sur-la-Rouge (“GSLR”) and its councilors to annul the resolution of non-compliance adopted on December 12th, 2017, to declare that Canada Carbon has crystallized its right to a mining and a marble quarry from the moment it filed a request before the CPTAQ, to declare that the council of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge and its councilors acted in bad faith and to sue both the Municipality and the councilors personally for damages.

The Company has been attempting to disseminate the facts about the Miller Project to the citizens of GSLR and the elected officials so that meaningful dialogue can occur and solutions to concerns can be addressed.  The Company did not get a response to its letter to the Mayor of GSLR, dated December 15th, 2017.   The Company’s attempts to provide facts have been thwarted by intentional misrepresentation with the objective of damaging the Company. The appeal before Quebec’s Administrative Tribunal and the upcoming lawsuit against GSLR and its councillors are the first steps to ensuring management defends the rights of the Company, its shareholders and the citizens of GSLR and surrounding areas that want economic development and jobs.
